Some know that for five years my children were lost to me , NOT because of drugs or things of that nature but because I tried to do on my own what a mother has to do to give her children a life and to give them what they need. There wasnt a day that went by that I didnt think of them or silently at night I would cry for them. Their fathers brother and his family are the ones that made sure that I could not see them nor get them to come live with me. Then a week ago this past Sunday I get a phone call my momma telling me that my middle daughter had called her , she gave me her phone number and I called , I couldnt stop crying , I couldnt speak just to hear her voice on the other end of that phone was heavenly bliss for me. I was SO Happy to learn that she wanted to come be with me and Blaksmith did not hastate one moment we got in the car and drove the hundred and something miles to pick her up , this all comes on the tail winds of our up and coming Marriage , yes Blaksmith and I are getting Married August 21st I really cant believe it myself , I guess Ive gone over , and over , and over and over the wedding plans a thousand times. Sometimes in life you have to go through some REALLY deep shit to get to the top of that Mountain and be able to say IVE MADE IT . Now I get to hear that wonderful word she just loves to yell for no reason at all " MOM AH ,, just like that MOM AH ,, I get to mock her when she yell's for MOM AH , thehheh my Beautiful 17 year old loves the mirror , Im just waiting for it to talk back to her ,, She is ONE MORE LOVEABLE MESS

Back in my life and IM GETTING MARRIED !!

Tiffney
Today I had to make a trip with my Momma one that sometimes if we have pets has to be made. It was very hard for my momma Tiffney had been with her for the last seventeen years . there every step of the way with her, where ever my momma was thats where Tiffney was. A companion to the truest since of the word. we knew that sooner or later the time was coming I had told my Momma that I would go with her to help her through this and I did. It really did hurt me to my heart to see my momma hurting but knowing she was doing what was right for her beloved companion. She did get to hold her while they let her pass away and that was very comforting for her at first I dont think they really wanted her to but I made them move out of the way so she could hold Tiffney. We took her home and buried her in my Momma's flower garden with it snowing and the ground was soft which was a good thing for us but not for our shoes black mountain dirt when wet tends to stick to you like glue. Afterwords we went in the house , to help my momma smile a little bit I played a trick on her just wish I had had a camcorder for this one the look on her face is just PRICELESS !!! as some know my momma is just now learning how to get on the computer and to get on the web, Well there is still a lot she doesnt know and most of the time I get a phone call every day about something she cant do or has done wrong on the computer and I either have to go up there and fix her problem or I just try and talk her through it on the phone, thehe she doesnt know how to get to her history, SOoo today while she was in the back side of the house I ran over and pulled up a " Sex Toys for Women " website clicked on it and off real fast so that it would go to history, when she came back in the livingroom she was telling me to check her facebook that something was wrong with it , it was telling her that her account was expired. So like a good daughter I went over to the computer and went to her facebook account which by the way I had put in her " Favorite box " and then she asked me to go into her history and find a site she had gone to last week ,and Of course I did and clicked on todays history and Yeap you guessed it " Sex Toys for Women" website was there , Her eyes got as Big as a hubcap on a cadalic she made the remark " HOW Did that Get there I Didnt put that there " by this time Im going on at her about her going to a Sex toy sight and telling her you just wait IM TELLING , Then I clicked on the link and of course it brought up all them toys and MAN if you could have just Seen the look on her Face my stomach is still hurting from laughing so much at her, her remark then was " OH MY GOD !!!!!!!!!!!" by this time Im in the floor rolling still telling her Im going to tell everybody she was on a Sex toy sight , and she is Still trying to figure out how that got there Cause she didnt do it. theeheh I finally told her I had done it , She got a good laugh for a while although she said she was going to Kick my rear end, If anyone here would like to send her a sympathy hug for the lose of her Beloved Pet Tiffney you can at ennis.irene@gmail.com it would really make her feel better.[link] in memory of Tiffney

Now on to the neighborhood humor , tehhe Well sunday we were out putting up fence in the area's of our yard that the dogs could get out when What comes down the road barking their heads off but the Mexican Mofia , Geess , so I yell up the road and tell who's ever dogs these are KEEP THEM IN YOUR OWN YARD !!! here comes the owner or one of them anyway , I told her to Keep her dogs in her own yard I was tired of them coming down in our yard and doing their business , and that I would call Amimal control on them again , So here she goes showing all of her inteligance yelling the f**K you at me , telling us that we are going to be reported for putting up a fence , that was Animal Curlety , uhh HOw So. Then her daddy comes down in is mini van , ( theeh see the reference MINI theheh ) He gets out and playes it off like there is nothing wrong with what they letting their pets do , I Look and Relize ITS THE BUBBA FAMILY , and they HAVE a very nice FENCED in YARD ,!!!! What the HELL !!! and I brought this up to him , Ohh bad thing to do he wanted to come in our yard and hit me , ( SeE BUbba"S got Mini Brains along with other Mini things ) Blak came up and spoke to him and to get to the end we had to call the police out just because some people just dont know how to grow up and take care of their responseibalitys the way they should ,, Gees ,, Then another neighbor below us , goes Crazy , starts howling like a dog , and swatting at things on the side of her house , then she goes into an empty house between us , which is our landlords sisters place , yeah I mean it is a eye sore , but Still there was no reason to go and bust the windows out of it and scream and howl like a dog ( think she was on something ) SOO here we go again Having to call the police out , been one more week , tehhehe and to bet it all its Normally very quite around here , never have any trouble at all , I think this week has made up for it , and I hope we have no more trouble for the rest of the time we are here , tehehehheh ,

a different way of life
this was his home all his life , no running water no inside plumbing , no of the comforts that we now days take for granted this is a story that was in our local paper about a man that lived a different way of life then the normal society did , he passed away on the 13th of Jan 2010 , this goes to show that there are people that still do live this way , weither we relize it or not , does that make them igornat , no it just makes them different. Heart attack, exposure claim ‘Wild man of Cataloochee’
Haywood County legend Arley Phillips, 77, widely known as “the wild man of Cataloochee,” died last week of a heart attack and prolonged exposure to the cold.
Phillips lived in the White Oak community under conditions seldom found in today’s world. His primitive home had no running water or electricity and is unchanged — except for wear and tear — from the time it became the family home. The Phillips were one of many forced to relocate when the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was formed. There is no insulation in the house and the construction of yesteryear allows plenty of places for outside air to circulate in both winter and summer.

Those closest to him said Arley hadn’t had a fire in any of the fireplaces or stoves in the home for 10 years. Food and beverages were consumed cold, and he always kept a water bottle in his pocket or bed. When long-time friend Jeff Teague found him in bad shape Monday, Jan. 11, the water bottle under his pillow was frozen solid and he had 10 blankets piled on top of him. The week before he became ill, temperatures had dipped into the single digits and remained well below freezing for more than a week.
“I’d been trying to get him to come to my place,” Teague said. “All he would say is, ‘what would happen then?’ You could bring him stuff, but you couldn’t take care of him. He took care of himself.”
Teague said he once asked him why he wouldn’t build a fire to heat up food or keep warm.
“He said a fire would burn you up one side and freeze you on the other,” Teague said.
Philips had lived alone in the woods for so long he had little to say to those who found their way to his corner of the world. Some who were seen as a threat could face a beating with a stick, said Phillips’ nephew Mitchell, who regularly came by with provisions. But when most stopped by, Arley would just hide.
Teague, Phillips and neighbor Bob Farmer were among the few people Arley would speak to.
“I remember when I first saw him,” Teague said. “I was 5 or 6 and we stopped by to drop off our garbage. He was sitting in the Dumpster reading the paper and eating peanuts. We used to look for him, and he would hide.”
Persistence paid off, and by the time Teague was 11, he and Arley had formed a special bond.
“We used to pal around. We wouldn’t have a conversation like you and I are having, but we would sit in the sun or fish. He would follow the sun and sit where it was warm. When I started bear hunting, I would ask him if he saw any bears, and he would point me in the right direction. When we found one, he would hear the dogs and beat me to the tree.”
Bob Farmer, Arley’s nearest neighbor, was one of several who would drop off food and visit a spell — if Arley was in the mood.
“Sometimes he’d talk. Sometimes he’d run. He couldn’t make a sentence because he’d been by himself so long. He didn’t like for you to come around his house too much. You wouldn’t believe in this day and time, someone would be living like that. He used to eat out of these roadside garbage cans.”
Farmer said at one time, Arley would stay in Cataloochee where campers who lived in nearby Haywood or Tennessee would feed him. His long stays in the park marked by limited contact with others earned him his nickname “the wild man of Cataloochee.”
“They finally got to where they would let him do whatever he wanted to do in the park,” Farmer said. In later years, Arley stayed closer to home and survived on the food provided by neighbors, including fresh milk and bread from Ruth Jenkins, canned goods, along with other provisions, including Prince Albert tobacco and papers to roll cigarettes, delivered by Mitchell Phillips and Teague, and contributions from many others in the community.
Mitchell Phillips, along with Tracy Best and others, built a 12-foot by 15-foot insulated room with a wood stove next to Arley’s home two years ago. They moved his cot into the room, moved Arley’s stored belongings away from a door so he could access the attached entryway to the new, warmer quarters, brought in a comfortable chair and provided several barrels with lids for a safe place to store food. Arley would have nothing to do with it.
“I asked him if he’d been in the new building,” Teague said. “He said, ‘no. I reckon there’s nothing in there but sow boomers.”
Arley got his drinking water from a creek below his house or a nearby spring. Food that might attract rats was kept in covered buckets. Those bringing supplies eventually learned what he would and wouldn’t eat. The items he didn’t like — pork and beans, spaghetti-os or mixed vegetables, for instance — were left where they were put, untouched. He liked peanuts until his teeth became so decayed he couldn’t eat them.
“He would cut his own hair and pull his own teeth,” Teague said. “He never saw a doctor.”
That changed, however, the day before he died. When Teague found him, he knew it was time for Arley to get help. While the emergency workers volunteered to bring their four-wheeler in to carry him out, Teague knew the experience would be too scary.
“It was 40 to 50 years since he’d been in a vehicle,” Mitchell Phillips added.
Teague, with the help of Mitchell Phillips, carried Arley through narrow walkways and unstable floors in the jam-packed house, down the slippery, snow-covered slope, across a creek and up the hill to a private road where an ambulance awaited.
Arley became anxious when he was put in the ambulance, but was calmed when Teague took his hand. Family and friends had high praise for the treatment he received at Haywood Regional Medical Center, whose staff abided with wishes to treat the case as a special circumstance.
Arley died at 6 a.m. the next day with Teague, Mitchell and Mitchell’s wife, Suzi, at his side.
Private family services were held in Cosby, Tenn., Friday.
“He was the best neighbor there ever was,” said Teague. “He would mind his own business and not bother anyone. If everyone would live that way, we’d have no problems.”
Suzi Mitchell said his was “an honor and a privilege” to know Arley.
“Arley was the real thing,” she said.
